The Crane School of Music students, faculty and guest artists present over 300 public performances each year. Also, master classes provide the special chance for our student singers, instrumentalists and conductors to learn from prominent visiting artists and alumni.

Lougheed Festival of the Arts

Through the generosity and artistic vision of Kathryn (Kofoed) '54 and Donald Lougheed, The Lougheed Festival of the Arts resurrects the tradition of a dynamic and comprehensive campus spring festival, to include theatre, dance, vocal and instrumental performances; visual arts exhibitions; creative writing programs; and guest artists and lecturers.

Crane Candlelight Concert

The 300 musicians of the Crane Chorus and the Crane Symphony Orchestra will fill the stage at the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall for the annual performance.

Crane Symposium on Music Teacher Education

The Crane Symposium on Music Teacher Education provides an opportunity for exploring and sharing current thinking, scholarly advances and teaching practices from foremost teachers, researchers, and musicians regarding these questions and issues.

Crane International Piano Competition

Since 2002, the Julia Crane International Piano Competition has provided scholarships and performance opportunities for young pianists.  In addition the competition provides students from around the world with an opportunity to participate in workshops and masterclasses that foster both professionalism and camaraderie.

Crane Theory Symposium

This symposium hopes to promote lively discussion of the rich history of these partnerships and speculation upon possible future directions.

Crane Piano Pedagogy Conference

Piano teachers- come join us for an exciting day of free workshops and master classes focusing on elementary and intermediate piano students! Held at The Crane School of Music SUNY Potsdam, this energizing day of professional enrichment and networking with fellow piano teachers will draw upon the expertise of Crane faculty and visiting piano pedagogues.

Pellicciotti Opera Composition Prize

The Domenic J. Pellicciotti Opera Composition Prize was founded by Dr. Gary C. Jaquay to honor his life partner Domenic J. Pellicciotti, an ardent fan of opera.
